In 2012, MEEC is proud to sponsor its seventh MEEC “Student of the Year” Awards. Each Student of the Year recipient will receive $60.00 in cash, as well as a $60.00 Staples gift card.

In 2012, MEEC is proud to sponsor its seventh MEEC “Teacher of the Year” Awards. Three winners will be selected to receive this prestigious honor; one first place winner, who will receive $300 in cash and a plaque, and two MEEC “Teachers of Excellence” recipients, who will each receive $100 in cash and plaques. This year’s awards banquet will be held on May 10, 2012 at 6 PM at the beautiful Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville, California.
The Mojave Environmental Education Consortium is pleased to announce it’s 2011/2012 Environmental/Science Scholarship Program. MEEC will be awarding up to five scholarships for the 2011/2012 academic year.

YELC – A STEM Service Learning focused conference introducing students and teachers to environmental professionals while learning to develop Environmental Service Learning Projects to improve their local environment.
MEEC, the Mojave Desert AQMD, and the Mojave Desert Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association invite your school to participate in the 2012 “Outstanding Environmental Science Project Awards” Program. The program recognizes outstanding environmentally-themed science projects entered in local science fairs.
Always in the forefront of environmental education, MEEC is leading the High Desert in providing training and resources to our educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). This fall MEEC will introduce STEM to educators and students through workshops, the MEEC website, and as a primary component during the January 2012 YELC Conference in both Victorville and Antelope Valley
One of MEEC’s long term goals to see environmental clubs established on every campus within the High Desert.
Registration for the 2011 California K-12 Schools Recycling Challenge is open! The contest will run from October 17 through November 12, 2011.
MEEC is gearing up for its 7th Annual Youth Environmental Leadership Conference (YELC) – the office is buzzing with energy as staff works with MEEC partners taking YELC to the next level of leadership by incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through Environmental Service-Learning Projects
Tell us in 250 words or less how we are using natural gas today in our homes, business, and how we might use this clean burning fuel to reduce energy costs and air pollution in the future.
This year-long, world-wide celebration will raise awareness and inspire actions to sustainably manage and conserve the world’s trees and forests. The U.N. objectives are to: reverse the loss of forest cover, enhance economic, social and environmental benefits, increase the area of sustainably managed forests and to mobilize increased financial resources.
The contest will encourage teams of students, with guidance from their teachers, to come up with smartphone app ideas that will benefit the earth and the environment in a substantial way. The contest will be open to schools worldwide.
