2008/2009 Environmental/Science Scholarship Program

The Mojave Environmental Education Consortium is pleased to announce it’s first Environmental/Science Scholarship Program. MEEC awarded five scholarships for the 2009/2010 academic year. High School seniors residing within MEEC’s boundaries were eligible. MEEC’s boundaries consist of the High Desert portion of San Bernardino County, the Palo Verde Valley of Riverside County and the High Desert region of North Los Angeles County, including the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale.

Scholarships were awarded to five qualifying graduating high school seniors in the amount of $1,000.00 each. The students who were selected to receive the scholarships must declare a major in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or other closely related Science or Engineering field.

Congratulations to the following scholarship award recipients: Garet Rae, Peter Knight HS, Lancaster; Samuel Garcia, Palmdale HS, Palmdale; Alicia Madsen, Granite Hills HS, Apple Valley; Chase Bains, Academy for Academic Excellence, Apple Valley; and Eileen Williams, Apple Valley HS, Apple Valley.
